My research in the Melnick Lab is focused on the role of BCL6 in leukemia stem cells. We hypothesize that BCL6, which is critical for germinal center development and B cell lymphoma oncogenesis, regulates leukemia self-renewal and drug resistance properties. My aim is to identify the function and mechanism of BCL6 action in leukemia cells and to determine whether BCL6 inhibitors can synergize with other chemotherapeutic agents to eradicate disease. I joined the Melnick Lab in September 2010 after finishing my PhD in William Matsui's Lab at Johns Hopkins University.
